How to Create a Pop-Up Alarm in ACC

You will learn how to create a simple pop-up alarm in ACC. The Avigilon terminology differs. In essence this is equivalent to what is commonly known as black-screen technology.

The purpose is to show you how to create a pop-up alarm in ACC, but you can use this guide to create any alarm.

Setting up the Camera

Navigate to the camera where you want to set up analytics. Then Right-click and click setup to enter the camera menu.

Proceed by clicking the analytic events button and set up your event. Below is a short video example.

Play around with the detection zone and event type.

Create a Pop-Up Alarm

Navigate to your site, then click on the Alarms button.

Click add to add a new alarm and then select the alarm trigger source. In this example we select Video Analytics Event and we tick the relevant device.

On the next window select the linked device, this is usually the same device that will trigger the event. Then click the box that reads “View linked devices when alarm is triggered”.

Assign the desired alarm recipients. Then, if desired, select the playback audio.

Decide whether you want to force the operator to acknowledge the alarm with a comment. You may also want to trigger a selected digital output here.

I will leave these fields to default value.

Lastly, name your alarm and then choose a schedule. I will select the default schedule.

Arm a Panel in ACC Client

You do not need to arm a panel for the pop-up alarm to work. Arming a panel will reserve the panel for alarms so unnecessary views are not opened.

Testing Our Pop-Up Alarm in ACC

Walk or drive in the designated analytic event area to trigger your alarm and test if it works.
